I upgraded from a Brother machine I had purchased at a garage sale. I am quite happy with it. I do wish the book had better hints for problem solving. For instance, what seemed to be a tension problem turned out to be stabilizer that was too light-weight. I also wish it had a color display. I have learned to save similarly shaped patterns in a separate file with a distinctive name or code so I know which one I am selecting. I agree that it doesn’t seem to like Coats and Clark bobbin thread.
I love my 750D. Only gripe is the built in lettering……try as i might i am unable to determine where the SPACE selection is so I can do more than one word at a time. eg first and surname .Don’t actually use a lot of the Disney characters but those i have look wonderful. Reading above posts I too would like the LCD picture of what i am doing at the time to be clearer.
I have been using PC8500s for a little embroidery business that I have. I was thrilled when the PE750D came out for an emprodery machine and such a great price. I proceeded to buy 4 in all over a period of time. All the 750s have been in the shop many times. I do not get any production from them before they need shop repair…but the shop only cleans them and send them back to me. The machines work for a few projects and then have a multitude of problems such as all bobbin thread, all top thread, frozen. I have none of these problems with my 8500s. The embroidery that I do is on a cotton kitchen towel with no nap.I am at my wits end with these machines. I have used the 2 8500s I have for several years…maybe 8 years…and no problems until some parts needed replacement. I have to rely on my 8500s to do the work. Please advise!

I love my machine, like most I wish the LCD display was in color and wish I could go back on my stitches if it missed a spot.
I enjoy using my machine…Have done a lot of work on it…..they only thing I dont like..is that i cant see or distinguish half the pictures on the screen…..and I really wish they were in colour…thinking maybe of trading it in next yr…..to one that does bigger stitch outs..and coloured screen….
I wanted an embroidery machine only. This one filled the bill nicely. Had one small problem with to much grease under the bobbin case, which I fixed easily. Doesn’t seem to like coates and clark bobbin thread. Has done nice work so far. Go to Thredworks, com for free dizigitizer.
The time display is awesome as it tells you how long the design will take to embroider. I would give it five stars but the LCD is black and white which I feel should have been colored.
The only gripe I have with this machine - I am not allowed to sell the stuff I have embroidered with Disney designs. I have been told by my dealer that this a rule for all machines and not just for this particular machine or Brother machines in general. Other than that, I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to start machine embroidery.
My husband surprised me one fine morning with this Disney machine!! Can you believe it? Thanks Charles you’re the bestest ever! Been thinking of dabbling with embroidery for a while now, but I’ve never really sat down and gotten to it (too intimidated I guess).
Now that I’m embroidering, I feel like embroidering everything for some reason! It’s fine because the Disney designs that came with the machine are amazing.
I found the auto-threading to be a blessing as my eyes are not what they used to be. The cutter for the thread is great too. The only thing I find could be improved is the LCD display. I wish it had colors.
